The River Heritage Museum houses a range of interactive exhibits pertaining to the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers. Visitors learn about hydroelectric dams, flood tables, river bottoms, and even operate a model of a barge loader. The museum lies in the heart of town, across the water from the northern tip of Owens Island.
